What is the expiry date of Alpha Lipid Lifeline?
Our current stock carries an expiry date of February 2029. We only ship the latest production from the New Zealand manufacturer, and every tin shows its own best-before date on the base.
Where does the colostrum in Alpha Lipid Lifeline come from?
From New Zealand. Alpha Lipid Lifeline is manufactured by New Image International, which collects colostrum from New Zealand dairy herds and processes it in New Zealand.
What is bovine colostrum?
Colostrum is the first milk a mammal produces after giving birth, before ordinary milk comes in. It is naturally richer in immunoglobulins, growth factors and nutrients than regular milk. Alpha Lipid Lifeline uses bovine (cow) colostrum collected during those first milkings.
What are immunoglobulins (IgG) and why do they matter?
Immunoglobulins are proteins that form part of the body's natural defences — they help the immune system recognise and respond to things that do not belong. IgG is the most common type found in colostrum. Alpha Lipid Lifeline contains about 300mg of IgG per 16g serve, and that figure is one of the usual ways people compare colostrum products, because the amount varies a great deal between brands.
Why isn't Alpha Lipid Lifeline sold in Costco, Woolworths, Coles or Chemist Warehouse?
It is not a supermarket or pharmacy line. Alpha Lipid Lifeline is supplied through independent New Image International distributors, and we are one of them — so you will not find it on the shelf at major retail chains. Ordering online, either through a distributor's store or directly, is the normal route.
How does Alpha Lipid Lifeline differ from plain milk or from Ensure?
Milk and meal-replacement drinks such as Ensure are made from ordinary milk. Colostrum is the first milk, produced only in the first days after calving, so it is naturally much richer in immunoglobulins and growth factors. Alpha Lipid Lifeline also delivers 1,680mg of colostrum, 300mg of IgG, 1 billion CFU of probiotics and 1,000mg of calcium per 16g serve.
How is Alpha Lipid Lifeline different from a plain colostrum powder?
A plain colostrum powder is just dried colostrum. Alpha Lipid Lifeline is a formulated breakfast drink: colostrum plus its Alpha Lipid delivery system, probiotics, vitamins and minerals, and 1,000mg of calcium per serve. If you are comparing products, check the colostrum content per serve, the IgG figure, whether probiotics are included, and the price per serve rather than the price per tin.
Who can take it — safety & suitability
Can I take Alpha Lipid Lifeline if I have diabetes?
One 16g serve contains about 9.6g of carbohydrate, which for most people fits comfortably inside a day's eating plan. Everybody is different, though, so it is worth checking with your doctor or diabetes educator first, and keeping an eye on your blood sugar levels around the time you take it.
What if I'm lactose intolerant?
Colostrum is naturally low in lactose — noticeably lower than a glass of milk. Most people with a mild lactose sensitivity take colostrum without any trouble. If you have a severe lactose intolerance or a dairy allergy, please check with your healthcare provider first. A common approach is to start with a smaller amount and build up slowly.
I'm a vegetarian. Isn't colostrum an animal food?
Colostrum is a dairy ingredient, so Alpha Lipid Lifeline is suitable for vegetarians but not for vegans. If you follow a vegan diet, our plant-based option is ResMAX Antioxidants — 15 super berries, grape skin extract, inulin and vitamin C, with no dairy.
Can I give Alpha Lipid Lifeline to my children?
Alpha Lipid Lifeline is suitable for children aged 5 and over. For children under 5, or if your child has a health condition, please speak to your doctor or paediatrician before giving it.
Is it suitable for older adults?
There is nothing in the formulation that rules out older adults — many of our customers buy it for a parent or grandparent. It is a food-based supplement, not a medicine. If the person takes regular medication or is managing a health condition, have a word with their doctor first.
Can I take Alpha Lipid Lifeline with other supplements or medications?
There are no known interactions between colostrum and common supplements or medications. Even so, if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are managing a health condition, please check with your doctor before starting and mention that you are taking colostrum.
How to take it & what to expect
How much should I take, and how do I mix it?
The direction on the tin is 1 ½ scoops (16g) mixed with about 150ml of cold or room-temperature water, once a day. Shake it in a shaker and drink it on an empty stomach in the morning. Avoid hot water, which can damage the active nutrients.
How long does one tin last?
One 450g tin contains about 28 serves, so a single tin lasts roughly a month at one serve a day.
I'm an adult — why would I take colostrum?
Colostrum is not only for babies. Adults take it as a daily source of immunoglobulins, growth factors and nutrients that appear in colostrum at much higher levels than in ordinary milk. Many of our customers have it as a breakfast drink alongside their normal diet.
I play sport — is it useful?
Colostrum is a source of protein and immunoglobulins, and it is a popular addition to a training routine. Alpha Lipid Lifeline is a food supplement rather than a sports performance product, and we make no performance claims. If you compete at a level where supplements are tested, check with your sporting body first.
What if I get a headache or an upset stomach at first?
A small number of people notice mild changes in the first week or two — most commonly a headache, or needing to visit the toilet a little more often. For most people it settles within a few days. Try taking it with a little food, drink plenty of water, and if it continues or you feel unwell, stop and check with your doctor.
